Children's Month celebration kicks off in District 2

THE District 2 kick-off of the National Children’s Month was held at the Barangay Nazareth Gymnasium, organized by the City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC) under the supervision of the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD).Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, co-chairperson of the CCPC and chairperson of the committee on social services, delivered a message emphasizing the vital role of children in nation-building and the shared responsibility of society to uphold and protect their rights.
“Through this celebration for children, we aim to strengthen our protection for them and ensure that their rights are valued,” Councilor Jonjon said.
Games, a magic show, mascots kept the children engaged in the event. Booths that offered ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, and free haircuts were also setup.
The DSWD distributed food packs, while Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez and the 590th Air Base Group – Philippine Air Force donated slippers. Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez and Atty. Kapitana Regine Rodriguez handed out loot bags and packed meals to the participants.

Also present during the event were Councilors Des Dahino and Paolo Gaane, representatives from the DSWD Regional Office, CSWD Department Head Anecia Tongson and her staff, CCPC members, barangay officials from District 2, and other stakeholders.This year’s National Children’s Month celebration carries the theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasán: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Kabataan Ipaglaban.” (JDO/SP)
