CDRRMD satellite office to boost city emergency response - Go

Emergency services are now closer to communities, and the establishment of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) satellite office in Agusan will help make emergency and disaster response efficient.

This was the gist of Council Gigo Go’s message as she joined the turnover ceremony of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) satellite office, which will center its service to the residents of the city’s Second District.

“Response time can spell the difference between life and death. By establishing this satellite office in the eastern part of the city, we are addressing long-standing challenges caused by distance and traffic congestion,” Councilor Go said.

The CDRRMD–Oro Rescue 911 satellite office was approved by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) through a resolution in previous years, recognizing the need to decentralize emergency response facilities as the city continues to grow.

At present, the main CDRRMD–Oro Rescue office is in the city center, making accessibility a concern during emergencies.

The satellite office is expected to significantly reduce response time in areas frequently affected by medical emergencies and urban flooding.

According to CDRRMD Officer Nick Jabagat, Barangay Agusan was strategically chosen due to its location in the eastern section of the city.

He added that the facility will be manned by trained CDRRMD personnel and equipped with an ambulance to ensure swift emergency response. (JAO/SP/Photos from CIO FB page)
