To improve nutrition of schoolchildren, the city government and its partners, Jollibee Group Foundation and Alrose Group of Companies, joined together during the turnover and blessing of the Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT) Central Kitchen at East City Central School.

Councilor Moreno Y. Daba IV, representing Mayor Rolando Uy, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing hunger and malnutrition among learners, noting that proper nutrition plays a vital role in a child’s academic performance and overall development.

He also conveyed Mayor Uy’s gratitude to the partner organizations for extending assistance to the city’s educational sector through sustainable feeding initiatives.

Daba said that the establishment of the BLT Central Kitchen reflects the city government’s commitment to ensuring that children are not only educated but are also healthy and well-nourished.

He added that programs centered on nutrition and learning help build a stronger foundation for the youth and contribute to the city’s long-term development.

The turnover and blessing ceremony were also graced by the representatives from the local government, school officials, partner organizations, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders. (JAO/SP)
