Cabanlas optimistic of new site purchase for Brgy 21

COUNCILOR Edgar S. Cabanlas, on Wednesday, expressed optimism regarding the proposed multi-purpose building site that could improve access to government services for residents of Barangay 21.
This, after Councilor Cabanlas inspected the proposed lot intended for the said of multi-purpose building.
It may be recalled that the Barangay Council headed by Barangay Chair Fernando E. Abapo requested the city through the committee to facilitate the purchase of the lot, since the barangay lacks proper facility to accommodate basic services to its constituents.
During the visit, Councilor Cabanlas noticed that the barangay lacks a proper road right-of-way, which could hinder access to the proposed facility.
Barangay Chair Abapo emphasized the need to enhance accessibility to the site by acquiring additional property for road right-of-way.
Councilor Cabanlas noted the suggestion of purchasing the adjacent lot for road access and pointed out that having a road would allow emergency services respond quickly.
With this, the councilor requested the City Engineer’s Office to conduct a survey and prepare a sketch plan for further review. (JBD/SP)
