DURING the first regular session of the 21st City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas was unanimously elected as chairperson of the committee on economic enterprises.

The committee is tasked to study, investigate, and report on all matters and measures relating to the establishment, maintenance, and operation of the city government’s income-generating entities, including public markets, abattoirs, the main bus terminal, and all sub-terminals.

Councilor Cabanlas’ election underscores the Council’s confidence in his leadership and legislative experience, particularly in advancing initiatives that enhance the city’s economic viability and service delivery.

Councilor Yan Lam S. Lim joins him as co-chairperson, while Councilors Yevonna Yacine V. Emano, Gilda O. Go, and Kenneth John D. Sacala serve as committee members. (JAO/SP)
