Cabanlas comm to inspect Patag lot for proposed multipurpose bldg

THE City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas will inspect the lot eyed by the Barangay Council of Patag for its multi-purpose building.

During the recent meeting, Barangay Chair Eric Abaday informed the committee they have formally requested City Mayor Rolando A. Uy for a Usufruct Agreement and in assessing the designated lot, emphasizing the importance of the project in promoting community engagement and development.

He said the proposed multi-purpose building is funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways. However, the area has since been used as a parking lot and has even become a dumping area, which poses danger to the residents.

While agreeing to inspect the area, the committee cited that the implementation of the project is subject to the finalization of the usufruct agreement.

Councilor Cabanlas is optimistic that the infrastructure project could enhance community services in the said barangay, since it can be a venue for various activities and events.

The committee will invite the representatives from City Legal Office, City Assessor’s Office, City Engineering Office, and Barangay Council of Patag to join the inspection. (JBD/SP)
