Cabanlas cites revenue growth, calls for improved market management and security

“Nisaka kita kay naningkamot man.”

This was the remark of Economic Enterprise Committee Chairperson Councilor Edgar Cabanlas following the presentation of the City Economic Enterprises and Business Development Administration (CEEBDA) on its accomplishment report for 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.

According to the report, CEEBDA generated a total revenue of ₱112,538,893 in CY 2025. For the first quarter of 2026, revenue reached ₱35,114,130.42, reflecting an increase of ₱573,881.72 or 1.66 percent compared to the same period in 2025.

The increase was attributed to higher assessed business values, improved enforcement and collection efficiency, and better compliance among stallholders.

While expressing appreciation for the positive revenue performance, Cabanlas emphasized that there remains room for improvement, particularly in market management, operational systems, and the maintenance of public order and safety.

He stressed that revenue growth should be accompanied by continued efforts to improve services and ensure a safe and orderly environment for vendors, consumers, and other stakeholders.

In this regard, the councilor called on PMAJ Peter L. Tajor, Station Commander of Police Station 2, and Engr. Nonito Oclarit to further strengthen coordination and enforcement measures within the market area.

He noted that Cogon remains one of the city's busiest commercial centers, making effective coordination among concerned offices essential in maintaining peace and order, ensuring public safety, and promoting a conducive business environment. (SPE/SP)
