Cabanlas asks anew City Legal position on Puerto, Cogon market redevelopment

"GIVE us a clear-cut opinion."

This was the directive of City Councilor Edgar Cabanlas during the recent meeting of the City Council committee on economic enterprises as he urged the City Legal Office (CLO) to submit its final position together with the draft contract, on the proposed general renovation or redevelopment of Puerto Market and Cogon Market under a Build-Operate-and-Transfer (BOT)/Public-Private Partnership (P4) scheme pursuant to City Ordinance No. 15285-2026.

Cabanlas noted that the committee had already conducted several meetings on the matter and stressed the need to move the proposal forward.

"For the last time, I will reschedule again," Cabanlas said, emphasizing the importance of obtaining the CLO's opinion to facilitate the committee's deliberations.

The committee is scheduled to reconvene on July 29, giving the City Legal Office additional time to prepare and submit the requested documents. (SPE/SP)
