‘Be kind to your mind,’ Dahino urges on World Mental Health Day
Councilor Desiree Dahino urged everyone to prioritize mental health, practice self-compassion, and support those facing emotional struggles in observance of World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2026.
In a social media post, Dahino, a registered psychometrician and chairperson of the Committee on Women and Family Relations, reminded the public that mental health is as important as physical health and that seeking help should not be viewed as a sign of weakness.
She stressed that everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and supported, adding that no one should have to face personal struggles alone.
Dahino reaffirmed her commitment to supporting programs and initiatives that promote the well-being of individuals, families, and the wider community.
She also encouraged residents to practice compassion, empathy, and kindness in their daily interactions to help build a community where everyone feels supported. (JDO/SP)
