The City Council committee on barangay affairs, chaired by Councilor Marlo L. Tabac, is set to deliberate on the Bugo ordinance declaring the Kabugohanon Festival as an official annual cultural event of the barangay.

Authored by Barangay Kagawad Edwin V. Aban, the measure seeks to institutionalize the celebration to promote community participation, preserve the barangay’s rich cultural heritage, and strengthen local identity for future generations.

The festival will serve as a platform to showcase Bugo’s history, traditions, livelihood, and artistic expressions while fostering social cohesion among residents. It is also envisioned to contribute to local tourism growth by highlighting the community's unique cultural assets.

Through the annual observance of the Kabugohanon Festival, the ordinance aims to celebrate the spirit and heritage of the people of Bugo while promoting cultural awareness and pride among residents and visitors alike. (JAO/SP)
