MR. Jason D. Adaza, chief of the Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD), paid a courtesy visit to Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez to formally endorse a draft ordinance seeking the establishment of a Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) in the city.

The proposed ordinance is anchored on Senate Bill No. 1278, which mandates the standardized creation of BPO offices in all local government units (LGUs) across the country.

The bill aims to streamline the processing and management of business permits and licenses to promote efficiency, ease of doing business, and transparency in local governance.

The draft ordinance was submitted to Councilor Rodriguez in his capacity as chairperson of the Committee on Planning, Research, Innovation, and People’s Organization Accreditation, for his review and recommendations prior to its formal filing in the City Council.

The measure aims to significantly enhance the city’s business climate by simplifying regulatory procedures, reducing bureaucratic delays, and fostering a more investor-friendly environment for entrepreneurs and business owners in Cagayan de Oro. (JDO/SP)
