THE ₱5 million financial assistance for the construction of the halfway house project for Former Rebels (FRs) and Former Violent Extremists (FVEs) is in the offing.
This after the 21st City Council during its regular session Monday, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) covering the grant of the said financial assistance.

Under the MOA, the DILG and Department of National Defense jointly issued Memorandum Circular on implementing guidelines on the provision of DILG-Administered Package of Assistance for FRs and FVEs under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
ECLIP provides that the city shall create an ECLIP Committee Implementation Plan (ECCIP) reflecting the establishment, operation, and management of a temporary shelter, budget needed to implement and monitor its progress, and exit and sustainability plan. (JBD/SP)
