Barangay Macabalan is set to implement ₱28,160,209 worth of programs and projects for 2026, following the 21st City Council’s approval of its annual budget.
Of the total amount, ₱5,196,733 is allocated for the barangay development fund. A significant portion of this will go to the purchase of a dump truck worth ₱2.5 million and ₱2.26 million for the declogging of canals as a flood control measure.
The remaining funds will cover the installation of street lighting systems and the rehabilitation and improvement of public elementary and high schools in Macabalan.
The Sangguniang Kabataan Fund will have a 10% share of ₱2.8 million for youth development program, while ₱1.4 million is allotted for the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (BDDRMF) and quick response fund.
The budget also provides for programs on health, nutrition, culture, gender and development, protection of children, anti-drug abuse, community-based rehabilitation, and aid to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
The 2026 annual budget of Barangay Macabalan was favorably recommended for approval after having been found to be in legal order and compliant with the provisions of the Local Government Code (RA 7160).
The said legislation underwent review and gained endorsement from the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules, chaired by Councilor Marlo Tabac and Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, respectively. (FDC/SP)
