Dads support extension of ML in Mindanao

COUNCILOR Yan Lam Lim, chair of the City Council committee on barangay affairs, reiterated his call to support the extension of the declaration by President Rodrigo Duterte of Martial Law in the islands of Mindanao.
In his special report during the 68th regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy, Councilor Lim said the city had experienced how Martial Law was implemented last year. There were no human rights abuses perpetrated as a result of the Martial Law, he said.
Through the Martial Law, Councilor Lim observed that there was a drastic decrease in the crime rate in the city.
“While admittedly in the first few months of martial Law, business activity in the city slowed down, but thereafter it slowly picked up after business confidence was restored”, he stressed.
“In fact, even with the extension of Martial Law today we do not feel it having a negative impact on our economy and living condition,” he added.
As this developed, legislators adopted a resolution expressing strong and unified support to the extension of Martial Law in Mindanao. (JBD)
