SP lauds mayor, LFC, educ body for Oro’s Seal of Good Education Governance award

With this, Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy and members of the 18th City Council congratulated Mayor Oscar Moreno, the Local School Board (LSB), the Department of Education (DepEd) and Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, chair of the committee on education, for efforts and innovations to deliver the best education to the city’s constituents.
During the regular session Monday, Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya said because of this, Cagayan de Oro received Synergeia Foundations’ Seal of Good Education Governance during the 11th National Education Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Friday.
The councilor said out of all the participating highly-urbanized cities in the country, only Cagayan de Oro and Valenzuela received the award.
The summit was spearheaded by Synergeia Foundation, which has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd), local government units, socio-civic groups, teachers, parents and students to implement programs that will improve teaching and learning, The Power learned.
Councilor Nacaya said members of the City Council gave its full support and attended the summit in full force.
