Gihatagan sa prioridad sa maong budget ang pag-implementar sa ilang SK Youth Development and Empowerment Program nga gilangkoban sa programa sa edukasyon, panglawas, kinaiyahan, active citizenship, peace building and security, governance ug social inclusion and equity.

Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez reaffirmed his commitment to advancing programs that protect women and children during the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Desk Officers.
The meeting, organized by the City Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (CIACAT-VAWC) through the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), brought together VAWC Desk Officers and key stakeholders to discuss measures aimed at improving the city's response to cases involving violence against women and children.
Among the topics tackled were the proper issuance of Barangay Protection Orders (BPOs), the Referral Pathway for Anti-Bastos cases, and a consultation-dialogue to address implementation concerns and strengthen inter-agency coordination.
As chairperson of the committee on social services, Rodriguez underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among government agencies, barangays, and community stakeholders in enhancing programs and services that uphold the rights, safety, and welfare of women and children.
He also commended the dedication and commitment of the city's VAWC Desk Officers and frontline personnel, recognizing their vital role in ensuring that survivors of violence receive timely protection, appropriate support services, and access to justice.
Rodriguez likewise expressed his appreciation to the partner agencies and stakeholders for their continued cooperation in strengthening the city's protection mechanisms for women and children. He emphasized that creating a safer community requires a collective commitment from everyone."Building a safe community begins with a community that is willing to listen, ready to help, and courageous enough to stand for those in need," Rodriguez said. Councilor Gilda O. Go called on the community to promote greater understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of children with autism as she joined the Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro in launching the "TARIPATO: Pusong Yumayakap, Kamay na Gumagabay" program on July 3 at City Central School.
In her message, Go lauded the initiative for advancing autism awareness and stressed that every child deserves dignity, respect, and equal opportunities regardless of ability.
She also encouraged parents, teachers, students, and community stakeholders to help create inclusive environments where children with autism feel welcomed, understood, and empowered. She emphasized that stronger communities are built through empathy, acceptance, and compassion.
The activity gathered more than 300 pupils, including 15 children with special needs, together with their parents, teachers, Rotarians, volunteers, and partner organizations. It also marked the Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro's participation in the district-wide kickoff of Rotary International District 3870 for Rotary Year 2026–2027.
Derived from the Ilocano word Taripato, the project highlights Rotary's commitment to supporting children with special needs and promoting autism awareness.
Anchored on the theme "Building an Ausome Environment for Children with Autism," the program featured educational sessions and interactive activities that encouraged empathy and inclusion.
Rotary Club President Ralph Martin Go Rafanan thanked the school's partners and volunteers for their support, while Past District Governor Gigi Go, Project Chairperson Past Assistant Governor Lilibeth Layagon, and Community Service Director Rhea Matela reaffirmed their commitment to fostering autism awareness and building communities where every child feels safe, respected, and valued.
