CdeO, RMHC team up to establish child development center

A new child development facility is in the offing, following the 21st City Council’s approval of a measure authorizing the City Mayor to enter into a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philippines, Inc. (RMHC) for the said project.

The measure grants Mayor Rolando A. Uy authority to execute a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with RMHC and the Barangay Carmen covering the establishment and operation of the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Child Development Center.

Under the said agreement, RMHC will be responsible for addressing the remaining requirements needed for completion before the facility can be formally turned over and placed into operation.

The local government units of Cagayan de Oro and Carmen will assist in the processing of the issuance of the permits, licenses, clearances, and other regulatory documents, including the building permit.

The agreement likewise establishes guidelines governing the center’s physical appearance.

RMHC will oversee the selection of its color scheme and the decoration of the building and its premises, as well as the installation of signages and other displays identifying the organization as the project’s sponsor.

The parties will coordinate closely in completing the remaining requirements leading to the facility’s turnover.

Upon the issuance of all regulatory conditions, RMHC will turn over the completed CDC to the City Government and Barangay Carmen on a date to be jointly determined.

The ordinance was certified urgent by the City Mayor and approved by the City Council during its 50th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez. (JAO/SP)
