COUNCILOR Gigi Go pledged her support for the cooperative sector as she represented Mayor Rolando "Klarex" A. Uy during the 27th Annual General Assembly of the City Cooperative Development Council (CDC-CDOC) held at the City Tourism Hall.
This year's assembly carried the theme, "Cooperatives: United in Purpose, Resilient in Action: Scaling Cooperative Impact for a Golden CDO."
As chairperson of the committee on cooperatives, Go underscored the vital role of cooperatives as key partners in nation-building and local economic development.
She likewise reaffirmed her commitment to championing policies and initiatives that strengthen the cooperative movement in the city.
Also present at the event were Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Undersecretary Alexander B. Raquepo; CDA Regional Director Aminoden A. Elias; Atty. Yenyen Empinado-Alabe, representing Vice Mayor Jocelyn "Bebot" Rodriguez; CDC-CDOC Chairperson Edgardo A. COUNCILOR Desiree Ann Dahino reaffirmed her support for women's empowerment during the Capability Building Activity: Oro Women Focus Group Discussion and Policy Formulation held on July 14 at Cronin Cathedral.
In her message, Dahino, chairperson of the committee on women and family relations and co-chair of the City Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (CIACAT-VAWC), encouraged women to continue pursuing opportunities for growth, emphasizing that every woman deserves to be heard, empowered, and given the chance to rise above life's challenges.
The program, organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD), gathered 83 members of the Oro Women Association to discuss policy formulation on Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and the drafting of the association's Constitution and By-Laws. (SPE/SP)
