Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, chair of the City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate, praised the Barangay Council of Tablon headed by Barangay Chair Romeo Bacarro, for promptly addressing residents’ complaints about alleged road obstruction.
During the committee meeting, an affected resident raised concern that parked and improperly stored vehicles were blocking portions of a public road, creating traffic barriers and safety hazards for pedestrians and motorists.
According to the representative of the Barangay Council, they received the complaint and conducted a site visit, immediately coordinated with the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) to ensure enforcement and issued citation tickets to vehicle owners found obstructing the roadway.
While Councilor Cabanlas lauded the barangay council for their immediate action, he requested that they monitor the said area to prevent repeat offenses and protect the community. (JBD/SP)

THE City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas will conduct an on-site inspection of a proposed subdivision project in Barangay Gusa.
This is in view of the application of Upper Central Commercial for Preliminary Subdivision Development Plan (PSDP) for its subdivision project that covers an area of 108,048 square meters generating 53 lots.
During the committee meeting, Councilor Cabanlas said the inspection will assist the committee in formulating conditions that the applicant must comply with to protect the residents and ensure public safety.
The application of PSDP was recommended by the City Housing and Urban Development Department with conditions that require the developer to plant trees in designated areas to be developed and maintained as parks and playground, provide community facilities and to coordinate with homeowners to plant trees within its yard to strengthen the city’s ongoing greening program.
The inspection is scheduled on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 9:00 o’clock in the morning. (JBD/SP)
