The city is set to release the remaining subsidies from the 2025 budget for indigent solo parents and senior citizens this October and November.

The release of the remaining subsidies was announced by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, chairperson of the committee on social services, who has been following up with the concerned departments to address the matter and ensure that the intended assistance reaches the beneficiaries.

During the Executive Budget Hearing for Calendar Year 2027, the Local Finance Committee reported that 1,000 indigent solo parents are expected to receive ₱12,000 each, while 2,500 indigent senior citizens will receive ₱6,000 each.

As chairperson of the committee, Rodriguez stressed the importance of providing adequate funding for programs and services that directly benefit residents, particularly solo parents, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and senior citizens.
