Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez served as one of the judges in the culinary competitions during KUMBIRA 2026, held at The Atrium, Limketkai Mall, on October 14–16, 2026.

Rodriguez joined fellow judges Chef Cheong Yan See and Chef Melchor Taylo in evaluating participants in the Professional and Students Cooking Competitions, including the Patir and Chicken Humba categories, as well as the Bento Box Competition.

The competitions showcased participants’ culinary skills, creativity, technique, and resourcefulness in transforming local ingredients and Filipino dishes into innovative and appealing creations.

For Rodriguez, being part of the event was an opportunity to recognize the hard work and passion of professional chefs and aspiring culinary practitioners while celebrating Cagayan de Oro’s growing reputation for food and culinary excellence.

With the theme “Three Decades, One Culinary Legacy,” KUMBIRA 2026 celebrated three decades of culinary excellence by providing a platform for chefs and students to showcase their skills, creativity, and passion while highlighting Filipino food heritage. (JDO/SP)
