SP rezones, reclassifies land use of lots in CDO
TO address issues on sustainability and community development, the 20th City Council headed by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance rezoning and reclassifying the land use of the various lots across the city during its regular session presided over by Majority Floor Leader Edgar S. Cabanlas.
A total of 116 lots rezoning and 30 reclassification requests of lot owners were endorsed by the City Development Council (CDC), The Gavel learned.
In the resolution endorsed by the CDC, the rezoning and reclassifying of lots is pursuant to the policies on amendments to the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and zoning ordinance, and as provided for in the city’s integrated Zoning Ordinance of 2016 and national guidelines.
The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) evaluated the total proposed rezoned area of 464.31 hectares and the reclassification of 67.71 hectares of agricultural land to other non-agricultural use.
The reclassification of agricultural lands is authorized under Section 20 of Republic Act No. 7160, subject to the conditions and limitations provided in the said ordinance.
The ordinance was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees on Subdivision and Landed Estate and on Laws and Rules both chaired by Councilor Cabanlas.
