SP lauds USTP arnis team for MASTS 2025 feat

The 21st City Council commended the University of Science and Technology of South Philippines arnis team, through a resolution authored by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, for their performance in the 2025 Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Games, held in Oroquieta City.
The 15 student-athletes secured a Top 6 finish among 32 participating state universities and colleges.
The team was composed of Jurelen Bernaldez, Shaira Bonita, Jayne Kate Manlangit, Sherlyn Rom, Cyril Bonita, Christian Lavador, Mark Anthony Jamila, Joseph Palacio, John Roe De Casa, Avric Rey Ugsod, Xyra Jaen Oblimar, Erica Languita, Genetyron Zamoranos, James Baldonado, and Leander Villegas, under the guidance of their coach, Mr. Dwight T. Esquierdo.
The City Council recognized the team’s excellence and significant contribution in bringing pride and honor not only to USTP but also to the entire City of Cagayan de Oro. (JDO/SP)
