COUNCILOR Jonjon Rodriguez supported the disaster response and social protection efforts of the city in the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection Training.
The three-day capacity-building activity, conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office X, aims to enhance the knowledge and preparedness of frontline personnel in camp coordination, camp management, and the protection of internally displaced persons.
It seeks to equip participants with the skills needed to ensure a more efficient, organized, and people-centered response during emergencies and disasters.
Rodriguez, chairperson of the committee on social services, emphasized the importance of initiatives that strengthen the capabilities of frontline responders, noting that well-trained personnel play a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable communities during times of crisis.
The training forms part of ongoing efforts to improve inter-agency coordination, reinforce social protection mechanisms, and enhance disaster preparedness, ultimately ensuring better services and protection for communities that may be affected by emergencies and other crisis situations.
