Oro to strengthen ties with YMCA-USA - Go
Strengthening partnerships and expanding opportunities for youth and community development were among the key messages of Councilor Gilda “Gigi” Go as she welcomed a visiting YMCA-USA delegation to Cagayan de Oro.
In her message, Councilor Go, president of YMCA Cagayan de Oro, highlighted the importance of exchanging experiences and exploring collaboration to empower young people and strengthen communities.
“This visit is a celebration of our shared commitment to empowering young people, strengthening communities, and creating meaningful opportunities for those we serve,” Go said.
The two-day visit includes stops at BASA-nihan, YMCA CdeO’s community-based literacy program, and the YMCA campsite in Pualas, Bukidnon, where the delegates can learn more about the organization’s community initiatives and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
Go expressed hope that the visit would generate new ideas, strengthen ties among YMCA leaders, and open doors to lasting partnerships that would benefit the communities they serve.
“Together, we can do more. Together, we can inspire hope. And together, we can build stronger communities for generations to come,” she said.
The visiting delegation included Renata Ferrari, senior director for Global Relations; Trang Troung-Hill, director for Newcomer Engagement and Family Stability, Global Relations and Community Engagement; Jacob Meacham, management consultant; Christine Aquino, national program secretary; and Rafferty Noble Harker, strategic advisory.
