Barangay Nazareth will soon have its socialized housing project to provide much-needed housing solutions for displaced families within the community.

This, as the 21st City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez enacted an ordinance approving the Development Permit (DP) of the NHA-Barangay Nazareth Housing Project with an area of 1,929 square meters containing 35 lots, as applied for by the National Housing Authority (NHA).

The approval of the DP is subject to the conditions imposed by the City Engineers Office, City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD), and the Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator.

It may be recalled that Barangay Chair Regine Rodriguez informed that the housing beneficiaries were the families displaced by the fire in the barangay last February 2023.

They have sought assistance from both the barangay council and the landowner to secure permanent housing.

The legislation was endorsed by the committees on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate and on laws rules both chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas. (JBD/SP)
