Just compensation payment to owner affected by Macasandig drainage project okayed

Another property owner will soon be paid in just compensation for his lot was affected by the city project.

This, after the 21^st City Council during its regular session presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez enacted an ordinance appropriating an amount to be made available for the full payment of the claim for just compensation of the identified claimant based on the re-assessment of the property by the City Assessor’s Office.

The Gavel learned that the property was affected by the open drainage construction in the barangay.

The legislative body likewise authorized City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to sign the corresponding deed of absolute sale, formalizing the transfer of ownership of the affected property to the city government.

The ordinance was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on subdivision and landed estate, finance, budget and appropriations, and laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Edgar S. Cabanlas and Yan Lam Lim, respectively. (JBD/SP)
