Councilor Gilda O. Go is calling on eligible senior citizens and their families to attend the distribution of cash incentives under the Expanded Centenarian Act.
It will be held at the 5th Floor of SM CDO Downtown on July 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for District 1 beneficiaries, and on July 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for District 2 beneficiaries.
Implemented under Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024, the program recognizes Filipino senior citizens upon reaching the milestone ages of 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100 years. The law acknowledges not only their longevity but also their resilience, wisdom, and valuable contributions to their families and communities.
Before the enactment of RA 11982, only centenarians were entitled to receive a government cash incentive. The expanded law now extends this recognition by providing benefits to senior citizens at additional milestone ages.
Go, chairperson of the committee on senior citizens, reminded all beneficiaries to bring the required original documents along with photocopies to facilitate the orderly and efficient release of the cash incentives. (JAO/SP)
