Go joins Renewable Energy Expo 2.0

Councilor Gilda O. Go, representing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, attended the opening ceremony of the Renewable Energy Expo 2.0 held at the Sky Park of SM CDO Downtown Premier on June 27, 2026.

Organized by the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) in partnership with SM CDO Downtown Premier, the Mindanao Goes Solar Movement, and the Consumers for Renewable Energy Action in Mindanao (CREAM) Project, the two-day event promotes affordable renewable energy solutions for households, businesses, and communities in Mindanao.

As part of the Environmental Month 2026 celebration, the expo showcased renewable energy products, services, and innovations from local technology partners.

It also featured the soft launch of the “Sayang ang Araw, Gawing Mura ang Solar” campaign, which encourages the use of solar energy as a practical and sustainable solution to reduce electricity costs and strengthen energy security.

In her message, Go emphasized the need adopt clean energy technologies to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, address climate change, and support a more sustainable and resilient Cagayan de Oro.

She also encouraged residents and businesses to explore renewable energy options and support programs promoting environmental protection and sustainability. (JAO/SP)
