Finance body to review request for appropriation for land banking

The City Council committee on finance, budget and appropriations chaired by Councilor Yan Lam S. Lim is set to review the endorsement of City Mayor Rolando A. Uy of the request of the city’s Housing Department for the appropriation of ₱11,648,102.28 to fully pay the just compensation including registration and documentation expenses of a parcel of land located in Barangay San Simon for Resettlement Site/Land Banking purposes.

In his letter to the committee, Atty. Joeffrey D. Namalata, Acting Head of the City Housing and Urban Development Department, said the undertaking is in line with the City’s mandate to provide decent shelter, affordable housing and security of tenure to its constituents.

He said the barangay is part of the strategic areas subject for socialized housing program development under the city's San Simon Resettlement Project to benefit hundreds of informal settler families in the city.
