December 30 as Barangay 12 Monte Carlo Festival okayed

The 21st City Council, led by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, adopted a resolution declaring as operative the Barangay No. 12 Ordinance, which declares every December 30 as the Annual Barangay 12 Monte Carlo Festival.

The celebration will feature Monte Carlo, a well-known establishment and traditional pastime in the barangay, as its centerpiece.

Activities will include tournaments with prizes, a community fellowship meal through a boodle fight or potluck, live music and entertainment, and various games and recreational activities for adults and children.

The annual festival is envisioned to bring residents together in a festive community gathering while providing opportunities for fellowship, recreation, and stronger neighborhood ties.

The legislation was sponsored by the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules, respectively chaired by Councilors Marlo L. Tabac and Edgar S. Cabanlas. (JAO/SP)
