After receiving ₱3 million in December, last year, the House of Hope will get another ₱3 million, Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez revealed in his special report during the 24th Regular Session of the City Council.

He added that the 2025 allocation is currently underway, being processed by the City Finance Office.

Upon assuming office as city councilor and chairperson of the committee on social services, Rodriguez committed to prioritizing and fast-tracking the release of the funds to ensure the continuity of services for the facility and its residents.

Rodriguez also reminded the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) and the House of Hope focal persons to maintain proper and open communication with one another and with other City Government offices.

This, he stressed, is essential “so that our resident-patients, as well as their healthcare providers, will not be denied proper financial, medical, and material assistance at all times.”

Since the city government assumed the operations of the House of Hope, the facility has been allotted ₱3 million annually to support patient integration programs and other operational requirements.

This allocation is separate fr

om the ₱15 million budget for salaries, medicines, supplies, and other essential needs, as the House of Hope now operates under the JR Borja General Hospital system. (JDO/SP)
