Coordination is key in barangay disaster response - Rodriguez

A systematic and well-coordinated approach of the barangays and concerned agencies would ensure efficient response in times of crisis, Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez said during a city-wide orientation on disaster response protocol.

During the activity, Rodriguez, chair of the social services committee of the 21^st City Council, also reaffirmed his support for initiatives that capacitate barangay personnel, noting they are in the frontline during times of crisis.

Ms. Anecia Tongson, City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) department head, likewise called for a strengthened disaster response efforts and program implementation.

Apart from disaster response, the participants were taught camp management plan (CMP) and how to use the CMP assessment tool.

They also shared their experiences and recommendation during the open forum and discussed ways on how to further enhance and reinforce the city’s disaster response mechanisms. (JDO/SP)
