Rodriguez shared this update during the “Inyong Konseho Karon” program of the Cagayan de Oro City Information Office, where he presented key developments in the city’s social services programs, particularly those for vulnerable sectors.

He explained that while he had formally requested the release as early as February, the schedule conflicted with the disbursement of city scholars’ allowances, resulting in the delay.

Despite this, he assured the public that the local government is strictly adhering to established guidelines and processes to ensure transparency and accountability in the release of public funds. Rodriguez added the city is actively working to expedite the process and emphasized that Cagayan de Oro remains one of the few cities with a structured subsidy program specifically for solo parents.

He also provided updates on other major assistance programs. For persons with disabilities (PWDs), a subsidy of ₱6,000 each has been allocated for 2,000 beneficiaries, with a target release by April 2026, subject to the completion of final budget processes.

Meanwhile, under the 2025 budget allocation for senior citizens, each beneficiary will also receive ₱6,000.

Rodriguez, chairperson of the social services committee, reaffirmed his commitment to consistent follow-ups with concerned offices to ensure that all subsidies are released on time and reach their intended beneficiaries. (JDO/SP)
