Balaba welcomes exhibitors, guests in NorMin-hosted World Travel Expo 9

COUNCILOR Girlie Balaba welcomed the guests, travelers, and industry partners who gathered under one roof for the World Travel Expo (WTE) 9, hosted by Northern Mindanao in a significant first.

In her message, Balaba emphasized the role of WTE in bringing to the heart of global tourism innovation, culture, partnerships, and, most importantly, people.

She also said that, the event helps the local economy thrive and make known the untapped potentials of Mindanao as well as the crafts, stories, and traditions of its people.

For the lady councilor, it is high time that the concept of travelling be one that uplifts, educates, and empowers, noting that the region has become a magnet to the world, stamping itself with a distinguished reputation in the map of Philippine tourism.

The expo gathered over 20 exhibitors offering global travel deals and packages. It also provided a platform for local entrepreneurs and hospitality providers to promote their services.

The 3-day event held at the Centrio Ayala Malls last July 25-27 was attended by AD Asia Events Group Managing Director, Ms. Mildred Caballero, and the representatives from the Department of Tourism Region 10 and the tourism offices of the local government units of Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental.
