SP endorses application of TEPAI for CBFM

THE City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy adopted a resolution endorsing and or/interposing no objection to the application of the Tinipigan for Ecological Protection Association Inc. (TEPAI) for Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) located at Batinay, Tagpangi.

This, after reviewing pertinent documents submitted by the association, such as the certification of Engracia Linsangan, eldest of Higa-onon Tribal that Barangay Tagpangi is not covered by the ancestral domain claim of the Higaonon Tribe of Cagayan de Oro City.

He also certified that the members of the association are bonafide residents of Tagpangi, who have been cultivating the timberland for almost 17 years.

The resolution was endorsed by the committees on environment and natural resources and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Zaldy Ocon and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively.
