Salcedo hails holding of Brigada Eskwela program

COUNCILOR Enrico Salcedo, chair of the City Council committee on cooperatives, expressed his support to the Brigada Eskwela, which is being conducted in every public school in the entire nation.

The activity, which was initiated by the Department of Education (DepEd), kicked off last May 15, 2017 and will end on May 20, 2017.

The week-long school maintenance practice aims to prepare schools for the coming school year and to promote volunteerism among the members of the community.

According to Councilor Salcedo, Brigada Eskwela is a big contribution to school children, especially through the support of the parents who exerted efforts to make the activity a success.

“Hinaut nga suportahan nato isip mga ginikanan ang mga kalihukan nga maghatag og kaayohan sa atong mga kabataan ilabina nga nag-agad ang ilang kaugmaon sa atong mga kamot,” Salcedo opined.

The activity will bring together teachers, students, parents and community members who will help each other in repairing and preparing schools for the opening of classes on June 5, 2017.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela bears the theme “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan.” (JBD)
