The Cagayan de Oro City Council, led by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, recognized a multi-decorated, young Kagay-anon chess prodigy, Ruelle Andres Canino, for her record-breaking triumph in the 2025 Batang Pinoy National Championships held in General Santos City.


Through a resolution, the Council extended its commendation to Canino for her exceptional achievement, winning six gold medals in the standard, rapid, blitz, Chess 960 rapid and blitz, ASEAN Chess rapid, and blitz events and one in team play in the 17-and-under girls’ division.


The said measure principally sponsored by Councilor Gilda O. Go was unanimously approved by all members of city legislature. (FDC/SP)

KAPIN sa P962 mil ang gigahin sa Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) sa Barangay Agusan aron magamit sa pagpatuman sa mga programa nga makapadasig sa  kabatan-onan sa ilang dapit.

 

Kini human ang konseho sa syudad ubos ni Bise Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, sa sesyon niadtong Miyerkoles, misagop sa resolusyon nga nag-uli sa resolusyon sa Barangay Agusan diin nasukip ang ilang 2026 SK Annual Budget nga adunay gibanabanang kinitaan ug galastohon balor P3,218,931.00.

 

Lakip sa gipundohan mao ang programa paghatag og dugang kahibalo sa kabatan-onan sa natad sa panglawas, agriculture, gender sensitivity ug pagproteher sa kinaiyahan.

 

Dugang pundo usab ang gigahin alang sa active citizenship pahaom sa kasaulogan sa Linggo ng Kabataan ug uban pang proyekto nga makapadasig sa kabatan-onan diha sa pagkab-ot sa dugang kaarangan ug kalamboan sa ilang kinabuhi.

 

Ang maong budget miagi sa makuting pagsusi ug deliberasyon sa buhatan sa City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Oro Youth Development Council uban sa mga hintundang buhatan sa City Hall aron maseguro nga kini nahiuyon sa balaod.

 

Ang resolusyon nga gisagop sa konseho alang sa maong katuyoan gipaluyohan sa komite sa sports and youth development ni Konsehal Kenneth John Sacala ug sa komite sa pamalaod ug reglamento ni Konsehal Edgar Cabanlas. (RNQ/SP)

Barangay Macabalan is set to implement ₱28,160,209 worth of programs and projects for 2026, following the 21st City Council’s approval of its annual budget.


Of the total amount, ₱5,196,733 is allocated for the barangay development fund. A significant portion of this will go to the purchase of a dump truck worth ₱2.5 million and ₱2.26 million for the declogging of canals as a flood control measure.


The remaining funds will cover the installation of street lighting systems and the rehabilitation and improvement of public elementary and high schools in Macabalan.


The Sangguniang Kabataan Fund will have a 10% share of ₱2.8 million for youth development program, while ₱1.4 million is allotted for the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (BDDRMF) and quick response fund.


 

The budget also provides for programs on health, nutrition, culture, gender and development, protection of children, anti-drug abuse, community-based rehabilitation, and aid to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

 

The 2026 annual budget of Barangay Macabalan was favorably recommended for approval after having been found to be in legal order and compliant with the provisions of the Local Government Code (RA 7160). 

 

The said legislation underwent review and gained endorsement from the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules, chaired by Councilor Marlo Tabac and Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, respectively. (FDC/SP)
