COUNCILOR Gilda O. Go, chair of the committee on senior citizens, thanked the city government under Mayor Rolando Uy for facilitating cash gift distribution to three centenarian residents.

Each centenarian received ₱100,000 from the national government through the DSWD, in accordance with Republic Act No. 11982 or the Expanded Centenarians Act. In addition, they received another ₱100,000 from the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, as provided by a local ordinance.

The distribution was conducted house-to-house, as all three centenarians are no longer able to travel due to their advanced age. Councilor Go extended her appreciation to the distribution team composed of Retired PNP Captain Douglas Dabatian, Senior Citizen Focal Person Michael G. Carin, RSW, Special Program In-charge Judy Rose C. Ebanalo, and Expanded Centenarian In-charge Kristine Kaamino, all of whom played key roles in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of the cash gifts.

The activity was led by the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) under the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), which continues to serve and support the city's senior. (JAO/SP/Photos from Councilor Go’s FB page)

(MLR/SP)
