THE Barangay Council of Barangay 21, represented by Punong Barangay Fernando Abapo, recently appeared before the committee on public works chaired by Councilor Al Legaspi Sr. to request that the city mayor oversee and facilitate the establishment of a road right-of-way in Zone 1 of the barangay.
The proposed access road, located in the YMCA area, was cited as crucial for ensuring unimpeded passage, particularly during emergency response operations and other urgent situations.
PB Abapo explained that the request is necessary to enable effective coordination with stakeholders, address possible legal and administrative concerns, and implement appropriate measures to secure access to the road.
Following the discussion, the committee referred the matter to the City Legal Office for further study and for the determination of appropriate legal action.
A meeting with the YMCA is also expected to be scheduled to discuss the concern. (SPE/SP)
