VM Bebot Rodriguez takes part in VMLP 3rd Quarter Meeting, APO Conference

VICE Mayor Bebot Rodriguez participated in the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines (VMLP) 3rd Quarter 2026 National Executive Board Meeting and the 3rd Conference of the Academy of Presiding Officers, held in Manila.
“It was a very fruitful and productive gathering,” Vice Mayor Bebot said.
Among the highlights of the gathering was a plenary discussion with Former Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio on Philippine Island territories in the West Philippine Sea, providing vice mayors from across the country with a deeper understanding of matters concerning the country’s territory and national interests.
As VMLP Convention Director, Vice Mayor Bebot also formally presented Cagayan de Oro City’s hosting of the upcoming VMLP National Convention as part of the preparations for the organization’s next national gathering.
Moreover, she paid a courtesy visit to the Office of Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. at Malacañang Palace, together with members of the VMLP National Executive Board.
Among the matters discussed were school safety in light of recent shooting incidents, housing assistance for earthquake victims and families affected by other calamities, and the delivery of social services, particularly efforts to address malnutrition.
Vice Mayor Bebot likewise participated in the 3rd Know and Inform Conference of the VMLP 7th Academy of Presiding Officers, which featured sessions on Leading Policy Evaluation for Oversight, an APO Course Briefing, Participatory Policy Research Survey, and Strategic Communications for the Vice Mayor.
The conference also included updates on the eLegis Reference System, a system designed to support the digital transformation of local legislative bodies.
The discussion on eLegis builds on the VMLP’s ongoing efforts to bring digital legislative tools closer to local councils, including the first eLegis Caravan in Mindanao, which Vice Mayor Bebot hosted in Cagayan de Oro City last month. (SPE/SP)
