THE City Council committee on subdivision, housing development, and landed estate, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas deliberated on the offer to sell of the lot currently occupied by the St. John Elementary School in Barangay Puntod.
The property, on which the school has long been established, was acquired by the owner in late 1990s.
During the committee meeting, Barangay Chair Alexis Dacer of Barangay Puntod expressed his concern regarding the lack of coordination from the property owner.
Based on the approved appraisal report, the City Assessor’s Office representative said, the portion of the lot occupied by the school covers an area of 486 square meters, which is part of the 1,265 square meters requested by the local school board.
With this, Councilor Cabanlas asked the property owner to coordinate with the Barangay Council and secure a barangay resolution requesting the city government to acquire the said lot as an additional school site. (JBD/SP)
