Subd comm backs payment of fees to piso-piso beneficiaries in Macasandig

TO facilitate the transfer of titles to piso-piso beneficiaries in Mandumol, Barangay Macasandig, the City Council committee on subdivision and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas expressed support to their request for the payment of transfer fee, registration fee, and miscellaneous fee.

It was learned that the properties, covered by 119 certificates of titles, serve as an on-site resettlement area for the actual occupants and members of the Buena Oro Homeowners Association.

Ordinance No. 7724-2001 provided that the amount was appropriated as payment of just compensation to the lot owners. However, it did not include the allocation of such fees necessary to facilitate the transfer of titles.

During the recent meeting, Mr. Reuben Bonaoy, a representative of Task Force Emancipation of Piso-Piso Beneficiaries/Land Asset Management Office (TFEPB/LAMO) said an estimated ₱700,000, which already included in the budget,  will cover the payment of fees for the 119 land titles.

After the deliberation, Councilor Cabanlas referred the matter to the Local Finance Committee (LFC) for the issuance of a certificate of availability of funds to expedite the process.
