The 21st City Council approved Resolution No. 2026-425, accrediting two community organizations as Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)/People’s Organizations (POs) during its 56th Regular Session, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez.

Sponsored by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, the resolution accredits the Oro Bagsakan Vendors Association, Inc. and the Sendong Survivor’s Eco-Care Poverty Alleviation Livelihood Association (SSEPALA-Blk. 29) for membership in the city’s Local Special Bodies.

The accreditation is pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-060 and Article 64, Rule XIII of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Local Government Code of 1991.

As chairperson of the committee on planning, research and innovation, and people’s organization accreditation, Rodriguez emphasized the importance of recognizing community organizations and strengthening their participation in local governance.

He said the accreditation would provide the organizations with an avenue to voice their concerns and contribute their ideas and perspectives to the city’s development. (JDO/SP)
