The Rotary Youth Week 2026 culminated with a special session of the Rotary Youth City Council, marking the completion of a week-long immersion that gave 40 Rotary City Youth Officials (RCYOs) an opportunity to experience local governance firsthand.

The 21st City Council, headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, congratulated the 40 RCYOs of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro for the successful conduct of this year’s Rotary Youth Week.

In her inspirational message, VM Bebot reminded the youth to carry with them the values reflected in the Rotary 4-Way Test—to ask whether what they think, say, or do is true, fair, beneficial to all concerned, and conducive to goodwill and better friendships.

She encouraged the young leaders to make the most of the experience, emphasizing that their participation in the program is not only an opportunity to learn about government but also to develop a deeper sense of responsibility, leadership, and commitment to public service.

Meanwhile, Sk Federation President and Councilor Kenneth Sacala also delivered an inspirational message, highlighting the importance of empowering the youth and providing them with opportunities to participate in civic affairs and understand the responsibilities that come with public service.

The culmination program was also attended by Councilors Girlie Balaba, Aga Suan, Yvy Emano, Gigi Go, and Paolo Gaane, who showed their support for the young participants and the Rotary Youth Week initiative.

The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, headed by its President, Rtn. Noel A. Dajao, likewise expressed its gratitude to its partners from the Executive and Legislative branches for welcoming the RCYOs and providing them with meaningful opportunities to learn and engage in local governance.
