Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez urged the public to stay vigilant and help prevent possible scams after reports surfaced of fake social media accounts allegedly impersonating him.

Rodriguez issued the advisory through his official Facebook page after receiving reports that individuals were using fake accounts bearing his name and identity. According to the advisory, these accounts have allegedly been asking individuals for their phone numbers.

The public was urged to exercise caution and avoid engaging with suspicious accounts claiming to be affiliated with or representing the councilor.

The advisory emphasized that Rodriguez would never ask anyone for money through fake or unauthorized social media accounts.

The public was also reminded not to share personal information, phone numbers, one-time passwords (OTPs), or other sensitive details with suspicious individuals or accounts.

Rodriguez also encouraged the public to mass-report fake accounts impersonating him and to share the advisory with others to help prevent possible scams and protect the public from falling victim to impersonation schemes. (JDO/SP)
