Oro Council cites Go for public service award

The 21st City Council, under the leadership of Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, commended City Councilor Gilda “Gigi” O. Go for receiving the Outstanding Public Service Leadership Awardee at the Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards 2026, in Quezon City.

During its 31st Regular Session, the city legislature passed a resolution congratulating Councilor Go for being named among the “100 Most Empowered Women of the Year,” citing her dedication and contributions to public service.

Go described the recognition as both humbling and deeply meaningful.

“This recognition is not mine alone – it belongs to every person, every family, and every community I have had the privilege to serve over the years,” she said in a statement shared on her social media page.

She further emphasized her dedication to service, noting that public service has always been close to her heart.

“Through the years, I have dedicated myself to community service with compassion, sincerity, and a genuine desire to uplift lives,” she added.

The Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards is an annual celebration held in line with National Women’s Month, honoring Filipino women across various sectors for their excellence, influence, and meaningful impact on society. (JDO/SP)
