Liga thanks BBM program for support to grassroots development

The Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB)–Cagayan de Oro Chapter is all praised to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the implementation of the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang (BBM) Program, which grants ₱200,000 financial assistance to every barangay.

Funded through the Office of the President's Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF), the program allocates ₱100,000 for Scholarship Assistance Program, enabling each barangay to grant ₱20,000 each to five qualified scholars, while the remaining ₱100,000 is intended for priority community projects, including infrastructure improvements, procurement of office equipment, installation and repair of street lights, disaster preparedness and response initiatives, and other programs that directly benefit residents.

The chapter, led by Liga President and City Councilor Marlo L. Tabac, together with the Liga Board and its member barangays, also conveyed its appreciation to Hon. Jessica Gallegos Dy, National President of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, for her continued leadership and support in promoting the welfare of barangays nationwide.

According to the Liga, the initiative highlights the national government's commitment to empowering barangays and strengthening grassroots governance through sustained support for local development programs. (JAO/SP)
