Issuance of special patents of city’s land properties OKd

THE 19th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy during its regular session Monday, January 24, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Oscar Moreno to represent the city in the filing of applications for the issuance of special patents, with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

This covers the seven properties owned by the city government of Cagayan de Oro.

These are properties occupied by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR-10) with an area of 5,307 square meters, Macanhan, Carmen High School contains 3,696 square meters, lot near DAR-10 at Macanhan, Carmen (483 square meters), and Lumbia High School with an area of 15,492 square meters.

Also included are properties at the Lumbia Elementary School which covers 81,214 square meters, Tumpagon Elementary School with an area of 19,164 square meters, and Lumbia Barangay Hall with an area of 3,341 square meters.

In his letter to the legislative body, Mayor Moreno said the authorization of the City Council is one of the requirements for the LGU to finally secure the respective land titles over the said properties.

The legislation was sponsored by the committees on subdivision and landed estate and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Edgar S. Cabanlas and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, respectively.
