Go lauds ASSC seniors’ 16 years of service, unity, and community spirit
Councilor Gilda O. Go recently graced the 16th Anniversary Celebration of the Association of Scions Senior Citizens (ASSC), held at the Scions Executive Homes covered court, highlighting the organization’s years of service, unity, and unwavering commitment to the community.
Anchored on the theme “Bagong Pilipinas, Bagong Pag-asa: Serbisyo at Kabutihan Para sa mga Senior Citizens ay Makakamtan,” the celebration underscored the invaluable contributions of senior citizens and their continuing role in building a stronger, more caring community.
Go said the occasion not only marked ASSC’s 16 years of service and solidarity but also served as a reminder of the energy, wisdom, and joy that senior citizens continue to bring to the city.
The celebration featured a variety of activities designed to promote fellowship and active aging, including a morning fun walk and Zumba session, followed by cultural presentations and lively dancing in the afternoon.
“I am deeply grateful for the trust and invitation from ASSC President Victor Lagang and the entire team. As chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s committee on senior citizens, I am more inspired than ever to keep pushing for programs and policies that uplift the lives of our elderly,” Go said in her message.
She likewise expressed her appreciation to the organization for its continued efforts in fostering camaraderie and promoting the welfare of senior citizens.
Go encouraged the members to remain active and engaged in community-building efforts, emphasizing the importance of working together toward a city and a nation that recognizes, values, and cares for its elderly population. (JAO/SP)
