City Councilor Paolo Nicolo Gaane emphasized the critical importance of recognizing the signs and risks associated with heart attacks.
In his social media post, Councilor Gaane urged residents, especially women, to familiarize themselves with the common symptoms of heart attacks, which can be lifesaving.
Councilor Gaane, chair of the City Council committee on health, stressed that while chest pain remains a common symptom, many women may experience pain in the back, jaw, or even unusual fatigue.
The councilor also noted that conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity may increase the risk.
“Knowing the signs of a heart attack can make a difference between life and death,” he said.
The most common symptoms of heart attack include chest discomfort, shortness of breath, turning pale, heartburn, palpitation, lightheadedness combined with vomiting and nausea, and cold sweats. (JBD/SP)
